NPR is spending way too much time commemorating the fall of apartheid. Really- let's not have a whole week of people saying essentially the same thing over and over. They do that enough already.
Eleanor McEvoy has a number of lovely songs. Whisper a Prayer to the Moon is beautiful. Great lyric: If I had the powers/I'd give you the stars/the sun and the light/of the moon.
Dark Sun:The Making of the Hydrogen Bomb, by Richard Rhodes. discusses the nuclear arms race. Pretty freaking insane.
